Overview

Uniquely Louisa Open Show presented by the Louisa Arts Center. Original artwork in any media is invited for exhibition and sale.

Key dates

• Online registration: October 11, 2026 – January 7, 2027 @ 5:00 p.m.
• In-person submissions: January 9, 2027 @ 9:00–11:00 a.m.
• Artists notified: January 11, 2027
• Opening Reception: January 15, 2027 @ 6:00–8:00 p.m.
• Show dates: January 15 – March 5, 2027
• Unselected art pick-up: January 12–15, 2027 @ 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
• Unsold artwork pick-up: March 6, 2027 @ 9:00–11:00 a.m.

Eligibility

Open to all local artists. Artwork must be original in any media (no printed reproductions). Artwork wholly generated by AI programs will not be accepted; AI-assisted work is acceptable if the greater part of the process is the artist's tangible, intellectual, and creative labor. Artwork must not have previously appeared in a show at the Louisa Arts Center.

Submission requirements

• Maximum 3 pieces per artist
• In-person submissions only; no shipped artwork accepted
• Register at the Artcall website and upload digital photos (JPEG or PNG, 5 MB maximum)
• All 2-D artwork must be professionally framed and ready to hang with screw eyes, hanging rings, brackets, or wire on both sides of the back (no sawtooth hangers)
• Attach identification tags to the back of each work with artist name, title, price, and dimensions

Fees

• $5.00 per art piece (non-refundable)
• Fees waived for students under 18 (call 540-967-5200 for coupon code)

Sales & commission

All artwork must be offered for sale. The Louisa Arts Center retains a 30% commission on sold work. The artist must remit 15% of the sale price for any item purchased by an Arts Center client or referral from opening night to 30 days later. Set prices accounting for the commission.

Gallery hours

Tuesdays–Fridays @ 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and one hour before theater events.
