Overview

Artspiration Frederick invites Deaf, Hard of Hearing (HOH), and Children of Deaf Adults (CODA) artists working in all visual media to exhibit in Eyes and Hands, celebrating Deaf Awareness Month. The exhibition showcases diverse artistic voices, perspectives, techniques, and subject matter from the Deaf community.

Exhibition: September 5–27, 2026
Artists Reception: Saturday, September 12, 2026, 3:00–5:00 PM
Drop-off of accepted works: August 31 & September 1, 2026
Shipped works must arrive by: August 31, 2026
Pick-up after close of exhibit: September 28–29, 2026, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM

Eligibility

Deaf, Hard of Hearing (HOH), or Children of Deaf Adults (CODA) artists
16 years and older
Residing in the continental US
Works must not have been previously exhibited at Artspiration Frederick

Media & submission

Submit original work in any visual medium: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fiber art, ceramics, mixed media, digital art, and other forms of creative expression
Up to 3 works per artist
Submit 1–3 high-resolution images (300 dpi) through CaFÈ at callforentry.org

Presentation requirements

All 2-dimensional works must be properly framed with wire for hanging securely attached to the back (no sawtooth hangers)
All accepted work must have a label securely attached to the back (2D) or base (3D) with: Artist Name / Title of Art / Price
Prices entered in CaFE portfolio are final; no changes accepted after application
For shipped works, include proper boxes/crates/bins with labels including artist contact information and piece name; no packing peanuts

Fees & shipping

Entry fee: $35 (nonrefundable, due at time of application)
Shipping cost is the responsibility of the artist; return shipping label must be included with shipped works
Unsold shipped work returned using artist-provided shipping label on September 29
