Overview

This is a 3-week nature-focused residency in a traditional Greek mountain village on Thassos island. The residency is for artists, writers, musicians, and other creatives inspired by nature who want space to develop their work while learning about the local environment. Host Leah Heming, a nature guide and artist with decades of experience in galleries, publishing, and island life, will tailor the experience to each resident's creative needs.

Eligibility

Open to artists, writers, musicians, botanists, scientists, and other creatives of any career stage based anywhere in the world who work within themes of nature.

Residency length & living

• Duration: 3 weeks (22 nights)
• Average of 3 artists in residence at a time
• Private bedroom with work desk in a shared housing facility
• Shared kitchen, bathroom, studio, and communal spaces
• Many outdoor terraces with worktables and views

Studio & workspace

• Large indoor shared studio with wood stove
• Work desk in each private bedroom
• Outdoor terraces with worktables and stunning views
• Very good Wi-Fi
• Endless nature surrounding the house

Activities & support

• Weekly guided beach and art days with Leah Heming
• Weekly group creative brainstorming and check-in sessions
• Weekly show-and-tell of work in progress with feedback
• Optional final presentation to other residents at end of residency
• Tailor-made creative residency to fit individual needs
• 24/7 access to host for feedback and assistance

Fees

• €1,250 for 22 days/nights stay
• Includes weekly guided excursions, regular hikes, brainstorming sessions, and accommodation
• Free application
• No artist or travel stipends provided at this time; artists may seek external funding (organizer will provide documentation for grant applications)
