About
Artists are invited to apply for a multidisciplinary art residency in Portugal to develop projects in visual arts using various media and technologies, with access to equipped workshops.
Overview
Aviário Studio Multidisciplinary Residency is an artist-run space offering time, space, and technical conditions to develop ideas and try new approaches. The residency promotes connection between artists from different backgrounds and the exchange of knowledge and experiences, supporting exploration and production in the Visual Arts.

Eligibility
- Open to artists based anywhere in the world
- Any stage of career (emerging, mid-career, established)
- Must be over 21 years old at time of arrival
- Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators)
- May apply as a team
Facilities & Equipment
- Ceramics: electric wheels, electric kiln
- Metals: anvils, stakes, hammers, soldering workspace, gas/oxy torches, bench grinder
- Photography: darkroom (black and white), printers, scanner
- Printmaking: etching press, inking table, drying racks, hot plates, metal plate shear, paper soaking sinks, acid room, silkscreen studio
- Woodworking: tablesaw, bandsaw, router table, jointer, planer, wood vises
Housing & Accommodations
- Private bedroom in a shared housing facility on campus
- Spouses/partners allowed for full stay
- Pets are not allowed
- Partially accessible (50% or more)
- Shared kitchen with no meals provided
Fees
- Application Fee: 0 EUR
- Residency Fee (2 weeks): 600 EUR
- Residency Fee (3 weeks): 900 EUR
- Residency Fee (4 weeks): 1200 EUR
- Residency Fee (5 weeks): 1500 EUR
- Residency Fee (6 weeks): 1800 EUR
- Studio Support (training or assistance): 20 EUR per hour
- Materials and meals not included
