Overview

The Collective Micro-Residency for Expanded Photography is an intensive international program hosted by FotoCreativaBA in downtown Buenos Aires. This short-term residency is designed for photographers, visual artists, researchers, and curators seeking a dynamic, shared environment to expand their creative practices and professionalize their work. The program is fully bilingual (Spanish/English) and accepts independent applications globally.

Residency Structure

The program operates across three optional one-week cohorts in August and September 2026. It features specialized experimentation workshops, regular artwork clinics, project mentorship led by curator and visual artist Natheim, guided tours of contemporary art galleries across Buenos Aires, and a shared weekly local culture calendar. The experience culminates in a collective Open Studio event showcasing residents' work-in-progress to the local public.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a single portfolio PDF under 10MB via email, indicating their brief bio, motivation letter, and their preferred timeframe (Period A, B, or C).

Fees

• Residency fee: USD 100 / €90 per week for international residents
• Covers: all expanded photography workshops, portfolio review sessions, curatorial guidance by Natheim, gallery workspace access, city art tours, and coordination of the final collective Open Studio
• Housing and meals not included; the team provides full assistance and trusted local references for booking accommodation
