Overview
The Nakanojo Biennale is an international contemporary art festival held every two years in Nakanojo Town, Gunma Prefecture, surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery, Ramsar wetlands, hot spring villages, and traditional satoyama culture. For the 11th Nakanojo Biennale 2027, artists are invited to stay and work in this unique mountain village community to present their creations.
Who Can Apply
Open to both individuals and artist groups in all genres, including sculpture, painting, photography, video art, installation, and performance. New applicants are welcome.

There is no exhibition fee or residency fee. Artists will receive a production grant.
