NPS Signature status is achieved by having been accepted into three separate NPS Open International Exhibitions and must be maintained through continuous payment of annual membership dues. Work exhibited in previous NPS shows is not eligible, nor are works that have won a top award (Best of Show, first, second, or third place) in any other international, national, or regional art show or exhibition. Accepted artwork may not be exhibited concurrently in other shows or competitions, including published and virtual events. All entries must be for sale and realistically priced.

All artwork must be executed in dry pastel (hard to soft pure pigment pastels, not oil pastels). Mixed media is permitted when the artwork's final top surface is at least 80% traditional dry pastel. All artwork must be original in concept and completed within the past 2 years. No collaborative, classroom, paid-mentor critiqued, or instructor-assisted work. Portraits may not have been painted from Zoom reference. Any photo reference used must have been taken by the artist themselves. AI assistance is not permitted unless the source is the artist's own photo or artwork. Accepted painting must be identical to the digital entry.

  • Maximum unframed artwork size: 18x24" or 432 square inches
  • Minimum unframed artwork size: 9x12" or 108 square inches
  • No minimum frame size

Entry fee is $30 for up to 3 images. Fee is nonrefundable and must be paid by the entry deadline. Enter online at ShowSubmit. Submitted images must NOT include mat or frame; crop photos to include only the artwork. Be sure images are right side up. List image size to the nearest inch. Images should be in JPG format, under 30 mb, and sRGB color space. Framed dimensions are now required by galleries for planning purposes; enter frame dimensions estimated to the nearest inch. Entry forms must be filled out in their entirety. No changes to entries allowed after the entry deadline. No late entries will be accepted.

$2,000 in cash and merchandise awards. Juror of Selection & Awards: Marla Baggetta.
