The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library seeks a solo musician or small ensemble (max. trio) to perform live background music during the pre-show reception at Opus & Olives, a benefit fundraising event. The music will provide a welcoming environment for approximately 800 guests during arrival and pre-show reception while they check in, mingle, and participate in book signing activities. Instrumental music may be most suitable for this environment.

  • Event: Sunday, October 11, 2026
  • Performance time: 3:45 p.m. to approx. 6:15 p.m.
  • Load-in / soundcheck: 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
  • Application deadline: July 22, 2026

Open to solo musicians or small ensembles (max. trio).

$650 total payment, paid by check on the evening of the event.

  • Provide your own sound system as needed
  • Submit a valid W-9 prior to the event
  • Conduct all CD/merchandise sales transactions (no host commission taken)

Space will be available for artists to sell CDs and merchandise (excluding t-shirts or other larger items). No host commission will be taken for merch sales, and the artist is solely responsible for conducting all sales and transactions.

Email [email protected] indicating interest and describing your proposed music (instrumentation, style/genre). Please provide a link to an EPK if possible. Deadline for consideration is July 22, 2026.
