Overview
The City of Salida Arts & Culture Department invites artists to submit proposals for mosaic artwork on one or more of six large, multi-sided outdoor concrete planters with integrated seating, located along F Street in Salida's Creative Arts District. Designs should celebrate Salida's culture while creating an engaging public art experience. Mosaic, tile, and glass proposals are welcome.

- Total size of each planter: approximately 110 sq ft on average
- Designs must be original works and comply with copyright laws
- No words, advertising, religious art, sexual, violent, or politically partisan content
- Site visit prior to submission is recommended
Eligibility
- Artists at least 18 years of age, legally residing and authorized to work in the United States
- Individuals or teams with background, experience, and reputation for completing such projects
- Cannot be a member of ACAC or an employee of the City of Salida
- Local preference: Salida-based artists receive preference within 5% price difference; Chaffee County artists within 3%
Submission Requirements
Provide artist/team name, artist statement, contact information (phone, email, mailing address, county of residence), and title of artwork(s). Submit 1–4 concept images and 2–4 work samples. Clearly label images as "Concept" or "Work Sample."
Selection Criteria
Artists will be selected based on artistic excellence, demonstrated craftsmanship, relevant experience, and the creativity, originality, and strength of their proposed concept. The proposed art must be appropriate for the surrounding uses, unique and thoughtfully integrated into the existing environment, meet or exceed standards for structural integrity and durability, be weather/vandal/graffiti resistant, and meet standards for public safety.
