Lore Degenstein Gallery's 17th Annual Figurative Art Exhibition

Overview

This is a juried visual art competition and exhibition open to two-dimensional figurative artists (referencing the human figure) over age 18, working in painting, drawing, printmaking, or fiber. Juror: Tamie Beldue, contemporary American artist and Professor of Art at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Beldue will attend the opening reception on October 31 to give remarks and award prizes.

Key dates

• August 23, 2026 (11:59 PM EST): Application deadline
• September 7–11, 2026: Notifications emailed
• October 16, 2026: Deadline for received works
• October 31, 2026: Exhibition opening and award presentation (7–9 pm)
• December 13, 2026: Exhibition ends
• December 16, 2026: Return of works begins (shipping on hold Dec 21 – Jan 3)

Eligibility

• Age 18 and over
• Two-dimensional figurative art only (referencing the human figure)
• Mediums: painting, drawing, printmaking, and fiber
• Works must be created within the last five years (no earlier than 2021)
• Digitally-created works and works created using AI are not allowed
• All accepted works must be framed or otherwise ready to hang

Submission requirements

• Submit up to 3 works
• Images must be 300 dpi JPEG files suitable for print
• Non-refundable entry fee: $20 for up to 3 works

Awards

• Best of Show: $2,000
• Second Prize: $1,500
• Third Prize: $1,000
• Fourth Prize: $750
• Fifth Prize: $500

Shipping & delivery

Works may be shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx, or hand delivered. Artists are responsible for shipping both ways. Include a pre-paid return shipping label in the package. Mail to: Lore Degenstein Gallery, Susquehanna University, 1858 Weber Way, Selinsgrove, PA 17870. Works will not be returned before the end of the exhibition.
