Submit up to 3 original 2D or 3D artworks exploring drawing, mark making, layering, and the expressive possibilities of lines for a juried exhibition.
Overview
Linear Entanglements invites artists to explore the expressive possibilities of drawing, mark making, and the dynamic interplay of lines. Submit works that embody creative experimentation through layering techniques, collage, and vibrant color splash. Color is not imperative—monochromatic and limited palette works focusing on line, mark making, and layering are welcome. Works can be realistic or abstract, from gestural sketches to ambitious mixed media explorations.
Eligibility
- Open to all who live or work in Colorado
- Artwork must be original in concept and not copied from another artist
- No AI art will be accepted
- 2D and 3D work accepted and encouraged
- Size limitation: 36" x 36" maximum
Key Dates
- Submission deadline: Midnight MST, Sunday, August 23rd, 2026
- Notification: Friday, August 28th, 2026
- Artwork drop-off: August 29th–September 6th (by 5:00pm)
- Exhibition: September 10th–October 4th, 2026
- Opening Reception: Saturday, September 12th, 2026, 5:00–8:30pm
- Closing Reception & Artwork pickup: Sunday, October 4th, 2026, 3:30–5:30pm
Submission Requirements
- Submit up to 3 original pieces through callforentry.org
- Image files: JPEG only, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi, maximum 5 MB
- Submit photo of final artwork, not work samples or work-in-progress
- Images must be correctly oriented
- No digital enhancement allowed
Fees & Commission
- Entry fee: $35 to submit up to 3 original pieces
- Fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance
- Sold artwork incurs a 30% commission retained by the gallery
- Prices quoted on entry form may not be changed after acceptance
Artwork Delivery & Conditions
Drop off artwork August 29th–September 6th during gallery hours. All artwork must be protected with bubble wrap and plastic, and include artist's name, phone number, price, and title. Valkarie Gallery is not responsible for unprotected or damaged art. Purchased artwork must remain in the gallery until the exhibition closes.
Payment & Sales
Artists will be notified by email of any sales and will receive payment within one month of the exhibition close. Buyers will be charged sales tax for the Lakewood area and any applicable shipping fees.
