About
Artists and writers submit examples of work (5 for visual artists, 2 for writers up to 2000 words each) for a 2-month funded residency in historic Corsicana, Texas.
Overview
Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency provides an arena of generous support and historic space for an international community of artists and writers. Located fifty miles south of Dallas in the historic downtown of Corsicana, the residency uses preserved buildings from the oil boom era (1890s–1920s) as a cultural campus anchored by 100 West, a former Odd Fellows Lodge. The unique history and cultural landscape of Corsicana—at the intersection of economic change and diverse racial and religious histories—provides a springboard for innovative and engaged studio practices and writing.
