Call for Qualifications MOSAIC (Month of Shows, Art, Ideas, and Culture) original artwork

Overview

The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County seeks qualifications from professional artists to create original artwork celebrating the 2027 MOSAIC Celebration, marking the 10th iteration of this annual May event promoting cultural tourism to Palm Beach County. The selected artist will work with the Cultural Council's advertising agency and marketing team, and will be named and featured in the promotional campaign running April–May 2027.

Project Goals

The original artwork will be reproduced as a commemorative poster and adapted for a comprehensive promotional campaign including print and digital advertising, videos, web pages, brochures, large format signage, and other marketing materials.

Technical Requirements

• Developed within Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Procreate
• Minimum size of 36"x 24" at 300 dpi resolution
• Delivered in layers with each element provided as a complete image

Artistic Requirements

The work should visually capture the diversity of cultural experiences unique to The Palm Beaches (may include the Cultural Council's iconic seafoam green "Shades of Culture" sunglasses), convey the idea of a mosaic with several elements coming together, and may explore a distinct character or mascot that audiences can easily identify with.

Eligibility

Open to professional visual artists aged 18 and over who reside in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Application Materials

• Professional Resumé (limited to 2 pages)
• Statement of Interest (max. 500 words) addressing interest in this commission and conceptual/aesthetic approach
• Documentation of Past Projects: minimum 5, maximum 7 images of work completed within the past 5 years (JPG or PNG, 300 dpi, 5MB max)
• Image Information: title, year completed, medium, dimensions (no composite images)

Selection Process

• Qualification Review: Staff preview submissions for completeness and compliance
• Selection: A panel will review qualifications; up to 3 artists selected as finalists and notified
• Concept Creation: Finalists may be asked to create concepts and will each receive $500 stipend to develop proposals; artists present concepts to committee
• Final Artwork: Committee selects final artist to create original artwork; selected artist paid $5,000

• Submission deadline: July 15, 2026 at 11:59 pm
• Promotional campaign runs: April–May 2027
