Submit up to 3 original artworks completed within the last five years for a regional exhibition centered on haunting, ghostly, or supernatural imagery and related themes.

Ghosts & Things is a regional exhibition centered on haunting, ghostly, or otherwise supernatural imagery. Artists are welcome to submit work they deem appropriate for the theme. Work can utilize themes semi-related to the title, such as loss, grief, absence, and presence, among countless others.

  • Submission deadline: Sunday, August 16, 2026
  • Initial judging: August 17–18, 2026
  • Notification: by August 19, 2026
  • Artwork delivery deadline: Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Exhibition: September 12 – November 21, 2026

Open to artists residing in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas.

Submit 1 to 3 original artworks completed within the last five years. You may include up to 3 images, 1 audio file, and 1 video file in your submission.

$15 flat fee for up to three entries. All fees are non-refundable and payable through Callforentry.org by credit card only.

All works must be original, completed, and ready to hang. Frames, mats, and presentation must be professional quality and in good condition. Works on paper must be framed under acrylic or plexiglass. Paintings should be stretched or mounted. All freestanding sculptures must have felt pads attached to the bottom. Video work must come with its own equipment and setup tutorial. No clip frames, Swiss clips, Quick frames, or snap-edge frames are permitted. All works must have professional, secure hanging mechanisms (no plastic hangers, fishing line, or yarn). Include a title with the artwork.

Shipping via FedEx or UPS is mandatory. All shipped artwork must include a pre-paid return-shipping label. Artwork arriving through USPS will be held until a pre-paid return label from FedEx or UPS is provided. Alternatively, hand-deliver by appointment with Marcus Zwiebel at [email protected]. All hand-delivered work must be wrapped or boxed. Accepted artwork may not be removed from TRAHC prior to November 21, 2026.

Judging occurs in two phases. The selection committee will initially select artwork to be accepted into the exhibit (by August 19, 2026). After accepted artwork arrives, the committee will view the exhibit in person to select award-winning artwork. Winners will be contacted via email. There will not be a reception.
