Your agent, in your browser

The OpenCall companion is a Chrome extension that works wherever you already are: save any call you find on the web to your list, and draft application answers from your own materials, right on the form you're filling out.

Save calls from anywhere

Found an open call on a gallery site, in a newsletter, or behind an Instagram link? One click on Save this call adds it to your OpenCall list. We read the page, pull out the deadline, fee, and location, score the call against your profile, and track it alongside everything else you're watching, so it gets the same deadline reminders and overlap checks as the rest of your list.

Draft answers on the application itself

On an application form, click Draft answers on this form and the companion fills what it can, each field marked with where the answer came from:

  • Answers you already drafted on OpenCall come first. If you worked on this call inside OpenCall, your statement, cover note, and question answers are used exactly as you wrote them.
  • Contact and identity fields come straight from your OpenCall profile: name, email, phone, website, city. Never generated, never guessed.
  • Artist statement and bio fields get your own saved statements and bios, word for word, choosing the version that fits the field's character limit.
  • Open-ended questions ("why do you want to show here?") are drafted in your voice, grounded in the materials you've given OpenCall: your statements, your bios, your artwork descriptions. Dimensions and prices are taken from your artwork library, not invented.
  • Anything it isn't sure about is skipped, with a note saying why. An empty field beats a wrong one.

Filled fields are outlined so you can see exactly what was drafted. You edit, you approve, you hit submit. Always.

What it never does

  • It never submits for you. No form is ever sent, no button ever clicked on your behalf. Drafting is preparation; the decision is yours.
  • It never sees your passwords. It reads only the page you're looking at, only when you click one of its buttons. Password, payment, and other sensitive fields are never touched.
  • It never invents facts. Numbers, names, and claims come from your profile and your materials. Anything that can't be traced to them is left out or flagged for your review.

How to connect it

  1. Add the companion to Chrome. It's in early access while our Chrome Web Store listing is under way; join the newsletter and we'll announce the moment it's one click to add.
  2. Click the companion's icon in your toolbar and press Connect to OpenCall.
  3. Sign in (or create your free profile) on the page that opens. It says Connected and you're done. No codes, no settings.

One tip: the more of your real materials your OpenCall profile holds (statements, bios, artwork details), the better every draft gets.

The companion is part of OpenCall's larger goal: an agent that does the tedious business-of-art work in the background, so you spend your time making work, not hunting and re-typing. Get matched to see it end to end.
