Overview
APS Summer Online Showcase is non-juried at the first stage. Entrants must submit their best work completed in 2026. Stage one involves selection of 4 works, with notification to all members. The 4 finalists must commit to delivering their art to the Awards Dinner for in-person judging and evaluation.

Eligibility
Open to Austin Pastel Society members who have paid their 2026–2027 dues. Paintings must have been completed in 2026 and not previously exhibited in any prior APS exhibitions.
Medium & Requirements
Work must be minimum 80% soft pastel. No oil pastel is allowed. All work presented must be original. Compositions based on another artist's work, published materials, workshop-supervised pieces, paintings based on another person's photograph, or paintings created with optical projects or digital assistance are not eligible.
Subject Matter
Representational, traditional, or abstract artworks. Figural nudes in good taste are accepted. The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to reject work deemed unsuitable for exhibition.
Fees & Entries

- Best in Show: $300 and certificate
- 3 Awards of Excellence: $150 and Certificates
Framing & Delivery
Because this is an online show, framing is not required except for finalist artworks. The top four finalist paintings must be framed professionally, ready to hang, using wire supported by two sturdy hangers. D-Rings are recommended. They will be displayed at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, September 26, on APS decorative easels.
Sales
Work may be for sale; NFS (Not for Sale) is allowed. Requests for sales will be forwarded to the artist, who is solely responsible for the sale and delivery. Prices cannot be changed once submitted. APS receives no commission on sales.
Judge
Tetyana Aleksenko, an award-winning soft pastel and oil painter specializing in seascapes, florals, and portraits. She is President of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas and a soft pastels instructor.
