Submit up to 6 original paintings, drawings, printmaking, or mixed media artworks depicting journeys and travel themes with emphasis on color, light, and atmosphere.
Overview
Journeys: Color & Light is a juried exhibition celebrating personal journeys and the magic of color, light, and atmosphere in travel. The Desert Artists Gallery invites visual artists working in oil, acrylic, mixed media, collage, ink, and watercolor to submit original work. This hybrid virtual and in-gallery competition offers monetary awards, in-gallery exhibition, marketing and sales support, and the opportunity for winners to become Signature DAG artists.

Eligibility
- United States residents only
- 18 years or older
- Original artwork created by the submitting artist
- Artwork must be available for sale
- No AI artwork accepted
Media & Size
- Accepted media: oil, acrylic, mixed media, collage, ink, watercolor, paintings, drawings, printmaking
- Maximum dimensions including frame: 80 H x 40 W inches
Submission Requirements
- Submit 1 work sample free through CaFE platform
- Additional entries $5 each, up to maximum of 6 entries per artist
- All submissions uploaded through CaFE platform
- Artwork must arrive ready to hang with secure hardware (wired or D-rings)
Awards
- First Place: $300, year-end in-gallery exhibition, winner certificate, signature artist designation, free one-year membership, shop and profile page, free marketing campaign
- Second Place: $200, winner certificate, free one-year membership, shop and profile page, free marketing campaign
- Third Place: $100, winner certificate, free one-year membership, shop and profile page, free marketing campaign
- All selected finalists (top 25% of entries) receive Honorable Mention Certificate and virtual gallery promotion
Sales & Commission
All submitted artwork must be available for sale. DAG retains a 35% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit and may choose additional insurance during exhibition at their own expense. Winning artists must ship artwork with Certificate of Authenticity and include prepaid return shipping label.
