Salmagundi Club members may submit up to 2 artworks for consideration in a benefit auction.
Overview
Salmagundi Club members are invited to submit artworks for a twice-yearly benefit auction. All proceeds are split 50/50 between the artist and the club, with the option to donate the artist's full share to the club.

Eligibility
You must be a Salmagundi Club member to participate. Only work not previously offered at Salmagundi auctions will be accepted. Entries are juried by the art committee for quality and marketability.
Submission requirements
- Up to 2 artworks per artist
- All mediums accepted
- Outside dimensions of frame may not exceed 28" in any direction
- Sculptures: no more than 28" high and no more than 40 lbs
- All works must be professionally framed with wire for hanging, or professionally presentable for display
- Plexi-glass is recommended if displaying under glass to avoid breakage
Pricing and bidding
Each artist must set their own fair market price. The opening bid will be 1/3 of the market price rounded up to the nearest bid increment. Bid increments: $25 (under $500), $50 ($500–$1000), $100 ($1000–$2000), $200 (over $2000). 50% of the final selling price goes to the club, 50% to the artist. Artists may consent to allow the auctioneer to sell below the opening bid.
Shipping and delivery
Artists may deliver work in person during receiving days (September 24–27, 10am–5pm) or ship to the club. A prepaid return shipping label from USPS, UPS, or FedEx is required. Works must be shipped in reusable art shipping boxes labeled with the exhibition name, artist name, and work titles. Members receive 10% off Air Float boxes; contact [email protected] for the discount code.
Deinstallation
Works must be removed immediately after the exhibition ends. If no return shipping label was provided, return will only occur at the artist's request and expense. 30 days after the exhibition, uncollected works will be handled according to club policy.
