Native American visual artists and writers are invited to apply for a four-week residency fellowship at Ucross Foundation.

Ucross Native American Fellowships for Visual Artists and Writers provide four-week residencies at Ucross Foundation, a 20,000-acre ranch in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains of northern Wyoming. The program offers uninterrupted time and space for creative work within a supportive artist community.

Open to Native American visual artists and writers from all over the United States and the world.

  • Four-week residency
  • $1,500 stipend
  • $2,000 award
  • Living accommodations, meals, private work space
  • Professional chef-prepared lunches (Monday–Friday, delivered to studios) and group dinners (6 p.m.)
  • Access to world-class kitchen with provisions for breakfasts and weekends
  • Towels, linens, and weekly housekeeping
  • Opportunity to present work publicly
  • Visual artists: featured gallery exhibition at Ucross the following year
  • Writers: featured reading and talk

Residents are responsible for providing their own working materials.
