Overview
HMVC Gallery presents the 4th annual "Freestyle" group art show, an online exhibition celebrating freedom of expression with no limitations on theme, style, or technique. Artists are judged on originality, style, technique, artistry, and the quality of their Artist Bio and Artist Statement.
Key dates
- Digital entries due: July 29, 2026 before 11:59 pm EST
- Notification of acceptance: by July 31, 2026
- Exhibition dates: August 1–31, 2026
Eligibility
Open to all artists internationally. Artworks must be original visual art (all mediums accepted except AI-created art and video/film).
Media & format requirements
- Submit up to 20 high-quality images per artist (one artwork from each selected artist will be featured)
- Formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WEBP
- Dimensions: 1200–2560 pixels on longest side
- File size: under 2 MB per image
- Must include Artist Bio and Artist Statement
Fees
- Submission fee: $40 for first entry, $10 for each additional entry
- Non-refundable; does not guarantee acceptance
Awards
- Best of Show: $150 (winner must have working PayPal account; prize sent within 14 days)
- Second Place: $100 (winner must have working PayPal account; prize sent within 14 days)
- Third Place: One-month online solo show at HMVC Gallery New York plus solo certificate
- All participating artists: featured on website and virtual gallery, certificate of participation, artwork screened on Times Square jumbotron billboard (when possible)
How to enter
Submit high-quality images through the application form with your Artist Bio and Artist Statement. Entries are judged by Heini Mika and Vincent Chang. Properly prepared entries will be reviewed; jurors' decisions are final.
Rights & promotion
By submitting, you grant HMVC Gallery New York the right to use images on their website, social media, and online materials to promote exhibitions. Full credit and copyright remain with the artist. The gallery will promote the show and artists in their newsletter and Instagram (@hmvcgallery).
