About
Overview
Home Town East North Richland Hills Owner's Association seeks proposals for a sculptural bench for permanent placement in a large, open lawn area within the neighborhood adjacent to a busy walking trail and Walker's Creek. The artwork should include a seating element to comfortably fit 2-3 people, integrated into the overall creative sculpture design. Themes of nature are strongly encouraged. The piece should be treated primarily as a sculpture and work of collectible art, with the seating as a cohesive, intended part of the overall design.
Site & Design Requirements
- Seating element must comfortably fit 2-3 people
- Strong vertical presence approximately 6-8 ft tall will best visually command the large open lawn site
- Materials must be durable, maintenance-free, and suitable for full Texas sun and outdoor use
- Seating surface must be safe and comfortable for people in shorts
Key Dates
- Submission deadline: September 30, 2026
Eligibility
Open to all Texas artists. All work must be an original creation by the artist. Work will be selected based on artistic merit and experience necessary for placing durable, high-quality work in public spaces. The artwork may be existing work from the artist's inventory or a design created specifically for this commission.
