Autumn Beckons is an open juried group show presented by the Louisa Arts Center. All artworks must be original in any media and ready for sale. Work wholly generated by AI programs will not be accepted, but AI-assisted work is acceptable if the greater part of the artistic process and outcome is the tangible, intellectual, and creative labor of the artist(s).

  • In-person submission: September 19, 2026 @ 9:00–11:00 a.m.

  • Gallery hours: Tuesdays–Fridays @ 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and one hour before theater events

Open to all local artists. All artwork must be original. No printed reproductions, AI-generated work, or artwork previously shown at the Louisa Arts Center. Any copied photos used must have been taken by the artist or credit given to the photographer.

Register and upload digital photos (JPEG or PNG, 5 MB max) at https://autumnbeckonsopenshow.artcall.org. Print identification tags from the website and attach one to the back/bottom of each work; keep the other as your receipt. All artwork must be physically submitted in-person on September 19, 2026 from 9:00–11:00 a.m. Judging is not done virtually.

All media accepted. Two-dimensional work (drawing, painting, collage, photography, low relief, etc.) must be framed professionally and ready to hang from picture molding with screw eyes, hanging rings, brackets, and wire on both sides of the back. No sawtooth hangers. Gallery provides pedestals for 3-D work.

Entry fee is $5.00 per artwork (non-refundable), with a maximum of 3 pieces per artist. Fees are waived for students under 18; call the box office at (540) 967-5200 for a coupon code. If work sells, the Louisa Arts Center retains a 30% commission. Artists must contact the Arts Center and remit 15% of the sale price of any item purchased by an Arts Center client or referral from opening night through 30 days later. All artwork is required to be for sale.

The Louisa Arts Center is not responsible for loss or damage to artwork and does not insure entries. By submitting work, artists agree to hold the Arts Center harmless and to indemnify it against all claims resulting from losses. Artists also agree to allow their work to be shown and reproduced for publicity purposes.
