About
Overview
ARCAthens Virtual Residency #6 features three artists: Adeola Naomi Aderemi, a Nigerian-Greek filmmaker and activist focused on social justice, Black feminism, and gender-based violence; Tasha Dougé, a Bronx-based Haitian artist and artivist whose work addresses women, advocacy, identity, and Black pride; and Marie Vickles, Director of Education at the Pérez Art Museum Miami and independent curator focused on creativity and community engagement.
Program Focus
The residency facilitates a cross-cultural dialogue between fellows through Instagram visual conversations. The first week theme invites reflection on freedom, flags, and nation states, examining what freedom means for citizens whose liberation was never fully realized and those affected by imperialism.
