Get matched →SVĚTOVA 1 is offering a one-month creative and research residency program for one emerging visual artist at the beginning of their career. The residency provides an opportunity to develop a new artistic project in an inspiring environment with curatorial support, culminating in a public lecture, workshop, and exhibition that engages the local community.
(How) can imagination through art help solve current crises? The open call seeks artistic engagement addressing ecological, humanitarian, political, economic, or mental health crises, and related issues of racism, ableism, and queerphobia. Different approaches, media, and perspectives are welcome.

By applying, you agree to present your work and residency results through a workshop, artistic lecture, and exhibition. You are required to submit an application for the 'Culture Moves Europe' funding programme in collaboration with S1 curatorial team. If the grant is not approved, S1 will provide an artist fee of CZK 30,000 (approx. 1238 EUR) plus reimbursement of round-trip travel expenses.
The studio space is located inside the gallery and office (staff present 12-18 hours, Tuesday-Saturday). No laundry machine on-site, but laundromat within 5-minute walk.
