Arte Studio Ginestrelle: Creative & writing retreats in Assisi

Overview

Arte Studio Ginestrelle offers creative and writing residencies in Assisi, Italy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue. The residency invites guests to experience the artistic, historical, and natural environment of Assisi and Mt. Subasio through daily engagement with the town and surrounding countryside.

Residency Dates

• October 5–14, 2026 (recommended for colleagues, partners, or individual writers/artists)
• November 18–December 2, 2026 (recommended for colleagues, partners, or individual writers/artists)
• December 3–31, 2026 or December 9–31, 2026 (ideal for colleagues, partners, and individual artists/writers)

Location

Arte Studio Ginestrelle is located in Assisi city center near the Cathedral of San Rufino. Address: Via San Rufino, 29, 06081, Assisi (PG), Italy. A nearby olive grove in the countryside offers spaces for reflection and meditation.

Eligibility

Open to artists and writers at any stage of career. Selection is focused on the project proposal to develop during the stay.

What You'll Receive

Selected artists and writers will participate in the International collective exhibition of Literary, Visual and Performing Arts and be published in the annual art catalogue. Work will be exhibited during the Assisi International Contemporary Art Exhibition 2026 (XVII edition).
