Established in 2019, the AZ Youth Arts Council serves as peer-review panelists for the Creative Youth Grant, advising the Arts Commission on investments that directly affect young people. Over seven months, the 15-member Council will review issues related to arts and culture programs and services, and learn about policies related to equal access to the arts for all young people in Arizona.

Open to young artists and creatives ages 14-19 residing in Arizona. Top-scoring applications from each of the state's 15 counties will be selected to join the cohort to promote statewide representation.

  • Application deadline: August 13, 2026
  • Meetings begin: September 22, 2026 at 4:30-6:30pm
  • Attend 7 monthly Tuesday meetings on Zoom (September 22, October 13, November 3, January 5, February panel days TBD, March 2, April 6)
  • Learn about policy to advocate for equal access to the arts for all young people in Arizona
  • Serve as peer-review panelists for the Arts Commission's Creative Youth Grant and provide funding recommendations
  • Review issues related to arts and culture programs and services for young people
  • Create a collaborative arts and media project highlighting the arts in their communities
  • Connect with peers across the state
  • Engage with professionals in the arts, culture and education fields

Members receive a stipend of up to $800.
