Get matched →Beam Center seeks design proposals for a large-scale public artwork to be realized by 100+ young people (ages 9-17) and 20+ staff at Beam Camp. Projects become the physical world participants inhabit during the four-week summer session and set thematic directions that circulate throughout camp.
Beam Camp is an award-winning summer camp in Strafford, NH dedicated to building and collaboration. The camp offers youth hands-on skills development while exploring innovative thinking, design, problem-solving, and the creative process. Every year, the camp selects one ambitious, technically challenging Big Project as the centerpiece.
Unique and spectacular large-scale projects that are technically ambitious and can be realized through collaborations between the selected designer, youth campers, and staff. Proposals are welcome from anywhere in the world and from people of any age.
Winning proposals will be selected by a committee composed of Beam Center staff, youth, past project designers, and community members.
We recognize the usefulness of AI but ask that you use it sparingly. We would rather see and hear about an idea from its human designer(s) because they are the ones who can tell the story best.
Projects will be realized in July 2026.
