Artch Workshops 2025

Overview

Art Volt and Artch present a series of professional training workshops for emerging Quebec contemporary artists. Artch's mission is to identify, educate, and disseminate the work of emerging Quebec contemporary artists.

Eligibility

Workshops are available to students registered for graduation and/or recent alumni who have graduated from Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts within the last three years.

How to Register

Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first serve basis. To register, email [email protected] with your name, year of graduation, program and department, the workshop(s) you wish to attend, and proof of graduation (diploma or screen capture from Student Hub).

• Finding the Means for One's Ambitions: The Role of RAAV in the Visual Arts Ecosystem (French) – Friday, May 30th, 1:30pm–4:30pm with Natalie Dussault and Lana Greben
• Writing with Purpose: Artist Bios & Statements (French) – Friday, June 6th, 9:30am–12:30pm with Eric Dufresne-Arbique; (English) – Friday, June 6th, 1:30pm–4:30pm with Josée Pedneault
• Introduction to Anti-Oppression Strategies (English) – Friday, June 13th, 9:30am–12:30pm with Kama La Mackere
• Catalogue Clinic (Bilingual) – Friday, June 13th, 1:30pm–4:30pm with Pièce Jointe
• Producing an Exhibition (Bilingual) – Wednesday, June 18th, 5:00pm–8:00pm with Artys Transit

Workshop Details

Introduction to Career Planning guides participants through artistic identity development, portfolio creation, work promotion, and network management. Finding the Means for One's Ambitions covers artist rights, structuring practice, fair compensation, and contractual basics including RAAV services and the CARFAC fee schedule. Writing with Purpose offers structured training in artist bios and statements with personalized copy-editing. Introduction to Anti-Oppression Strategies analyzes power dynamics in arts and culture through theoretical and practical exercises. Catalogue Clinic provides support on production requirements for the Artch catalogue. Producing an Exhibition covers packing methods and materials for safely transporting artworks.
