About
Please Give to the Implementation Fund This summer, MOCA GA will open the doors to our new home in West Midtown, creating new opportunities to serve artists across Georgia. This move represents a significant investment in the future of contemporary art and the creative community that makes our state unique. For 26 years, MOCA GA has championed Georgia artists through exhibitions, educational initiatives, artist support programs, and the preservation of Georgia’s contemporary art history. Today, MOCA GA’s permanent collection includes more than 1,600 works of art, along with an ever-growing archive of over 400 linear feet of materials documenting the stories, achievements, and creative spirit of artists across our state. As our team settles into the new building and prepares to welcome visitors later this summer, we are already expanding the programs that make MOCA GA unique: We’ve announced the upcoming Working Artist Project (WAP) guest curator, Evan Garza of Mass MoCA – who will be in Atlanta doing studio visits later this summer. WAP is our legacy program, entering its 20th year, in which three artists are selected to each receive a studio apprentice, a solo exhibition, and a publication The Young Artist Project (YAP) is growing its impact by connecting high-school-aged art enthusiasts with college-level instructors, exposing the students to unique materials, and deepening their art knowledge and professional skills. Our expanded Internship Program provides students with valuable experience in archives, collections, and museum practice. We’ve launched Art for Healers, a partnership with the Northside Hospital system that positions art-making as a vital tool for restoration, resilience, and community-building among those who care for others. And this is only the beginning. Our new facility will allow us to serve the community in transformative ways, with larger exhibition galleries, a dedicated space for art-making, and a theater for talks, performances, and public programs. As we grow, so does our ability to support artists, engage audiences, and strengthen Georgia’s artistic landscape. Help Shape the Future of MOCA GA As we prepare to open our doors, we invite you to be part of this historic moment. Your gift will be part of our annual fund, supporting the programs and artists we all love. It will also be part of a special $250,000 fund we are introducing. A gift to MOCA GA’s Implementation Fund helps provide the staffing, programming, operations, and resources needed to bring our new facility to life and ensure it remains a vibrant destination for artists and audiences alike. This is a bold moment for MOCA GA. We would not be here without your support. With your additional help now, we will reach heights that were formerly dreams. Please join us in celebration of the museum’s successful journey and give a gift of any amount today. We can’t wait to see you when we open this summer!
