Overview
This program helps professional working artists cover costs of materials, supplies, and resources for creating new work; professional development or learning opportunities; or marketing and promotion expenses.
Eligibility
- Professional working artists age 18 and older with a portfolio, body of work, published works, or performance history
- Must be paid for performances, sell artwork, or receive compensation for artistic creation
- Regularly dedicate time to creating art and share work with the public through performances, screenings, fashion shows, publications, exhibits, etc.
- Actively engaged with the artistic community
- Franklin County residency for at least one year before application, OR commitment to remain resident in Franklin County for one year after award date
- Not enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate student

Ineligible Applicants
The program does not accept applications from: influencers or YouTube/TikTok/Instagram content creators; culinary artists/chefs; models and stylists; body artists (makeup, nails, hair, tattoos, etc.); music producers/producers/creative directors/art directors; sound engineers/recording engineers/podcast creators; strictly commercial photographers/videographers (weddings, family portraits, commercial shoots); strictly club DJs or hired for private/public events; religious leaders creating work exclusively for their congregation; artists creating work using exclusively artificial intelligence.

Important Note on Applications
Due to limited funding, incomplete or ineligible applications will NOT be permitted to resubmit. All applicants must carefully read the guidelines, attend funding workshops, and submit questions to GCAC staff before applying. Some eligible applications are rejected because a required element is missing or application form responses and artist CV are insufficiently detailed for approval.
