Get matched →The Teen Category of the 2027 Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition is an annual juried show at Chicago's Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, part of the Museum's 57th annual Black Creativity Program. It presents contemporary visual art by Black teen artists from the Chicagoland area.
Black teen artists in the Chicagoland area (within 100 miles of the Museum) who are currently enrolled in secondary education, grades 9-12 in the 2026/27 school year.
Contemporary works in any visual medium. 2D works may not exceed 60" in any direction. 3D works may not exceed 30" in any direction. Work may not exceed 50 lbs. Installations reviewed case-by-case; ceiling-hung works cannot be installed. Videos must be ADA compliant.
Up to four (4) works completed within the last school year (2025/26) up to the close of this call (Fall 2026). Work must be original creation (no AI generated work), unsold, and not previously selected for Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibitions. Submissions must be anonymous (remove watermarks, credits, names).
No entry fee. Submission deadline: October 11, 2026.

All accepted work must be framed or finished and ready for installation. 2D work must be dry and finished; framing/glazing recommended or required (required for paper). Textiles must include pockets, rods, and/or hardware for installation. 3D work must be stable and able to stand independently. Works must be delivered and picked up by artists on specified dates; no shipping provided by the Museum.
