About
Overview
Bankley's annual Open Call exhibition invites submissions from artists across the UK and beyond at any career stage. A panel of respected curators will select approximately 15 artists for this headline group show. All creative disciplines are welcome, including traditional and contemporary/interdisciplinary approaches.
Eligibility
Open to artists at any stage of their career (emerging, mid-career, or established). International submissions are welcomed. All creative disciplines are accepted.
Media & Practice
We accept traditional forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and photography, as well as contemporary and interdisciplinary approaches like performance, installation, gaming, virtual or augmented reality, sound art, poetry, dance, video, and writing.
What to Submit

Key Dates
- Submission deadline: 3 September 2026 (midnight)
- Selection notifications: 14 September 2026
- Artwork drop-off: 18–27 September 2026
- Exhibition preview & awards: 9 October 2026, 6–9 pm
- Exhibition dates: 9–25 October 2026
- Artwork collection: 27 October – 1 November 2026
Entry Fee & Payment
A non-refundable entry fee of £10 is required. Payment is made by debit or credit card after the first submission is completed. Bank transfer is available upon request. Submissions without payment will not be considered.
Awards
The First Prize includes a £300 cash award and a solo exhibition at Bankley Studios & Gallery in 2027. Approximately 15 artists will be selected by a judging panel of respected curators and contemporary arts professionals.
Delivery & Commission
Selected artwork must be delivered between 18–27 September to Bankley Gallery. Artists are fully responsible for delivery and collection costs. Bankley Studios & Gallery does not charge commission on artwork sales during the exhibition.
