Applying for a Residency / Grant

It is possible to apply for a residency as a guest artist through open calls for applications, or by being suggested for the program by one of our Munich cooperation partners. Open calls are regularly published on our homepage. Proposals from Munich cooperation partners are welcome for the year 2029. Unsolicited applications will only be considered in exceptional cases, for example, when other artists cancel on short notice.

Eligibility

Artists who have previously been in residence at Villa Waldberta or Ebenb\u00f6ckhaus are not eligible to apply for another residency.
Artists suggested for the program must reside outside of Bavaria.
Residency 2027 for Visual Artists from South America.

Grant

A monthly grant of \u20ac 1,300 is associated with the residency as a guest artist. The legal basis of the residency is a rent- and grant agreement concluded between the City of Munich and the respective guest artist.
