Studio 88 Artist Residency invites artists, designers, performers, musicians, filmmakers, writers, technologists, and interdisciplinary creatives to spend 4–6 weeks in Chiang Mai developing bold new ideas through collaboration, experimentation, and creative exchange. Taking place during Loy Krathong & Yi Peng Lantern Festival and alongside Chiang Mai Design Week 2026, SensoryScapes is an opportunity to immerse yourself in one of Southeast Asia's most inspiring cultural moments while developing work that bridges local stories and global conversations.

  • Duration: 2–6 weeks
  • Accommodation: Private accommodation, standalone bungalows, with a kitchen for light cooking
  • Workspace: Both private and shared, large and small. Darkroom, ceramics studio, woodworking, metalworking

Artists across disciplines: visual, performance, literary, digital, sound, and more. Creatives exploring environmental themes in dialogue with diverse peers. Practitioners ready to engage in exchange and cross-cultural learning.

All exhibitions or workshops are optional and to be discussed and agreed upon between Studio 88 Artist Residency and the artists. There may be additional fees involved.
