Overview
Season of Wonder is a members-only exhibition at the San Antonio Art League + Museum celebrating the sense of wonder that often accompanies the close of the year. This all-media exhibition invites artists to share original, affordable artwork that inspires delight, reflection, curiosity, and joy.
Theme
As the year draws to a close, this exhibition invites artists to explore experiences that awaken a sense of awe and possibility. Wonder may be found in changing seasons, beauty of light, the natural world, cherished traditions, acts of kindness, treasured memories, or the creative process itself.
Eligibility
- Open to current members of the San Antonio Art League + Museum
- Artwork must be original and completed after December 1, 2024
- Work must NOT have been exhibited in previous SAAL+M exhibitions
- Work must NOT have been completed under instruction or in direct association with a class or workshop
Media & Size
- All media welcome: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, glass, mixed media
- 2D and 3D works: no larger than 24" x 30" in overall size, including framing
- 3D works: no larger than 18" x 18" x 18" and no heavier than 25 pounds
- Price point: suggested cap of $1,000, though final pricing remains at artist's discretion
- 2D works must be ready to hang with secure hardware, framed or gallery wrapped
- 3D works must be stable, self-supporting, and safe for public display
Submissions & Fees
- Each artist may submit up to three pieces
- Entry fee: $25 (non-refundable) for one, two, or three pieces, paid at time of submission
- Submission period: August 17, 2026 to October 25, 2026
- Submit via ArtCall at saalm.org/wonder
- High-quality JPEG images required (300 dpi images no larger than 5 MB or 72 dpi images with larger dimension at 1800 pixels)
- Include title, medium, dimensions, and price for each work
Key Dates

- Notification date: November 1, 2026
- Drop-off: Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
- Exhibition dates: November 22 – December 18, 2026
- Pick-up: December 19 and 20, 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Sales & Commission
All works must be priced and available for sale. The San Antonio Art League + Museum retains a 40% commission on all sales. Artists will receive payment for sold works within 30 days of the exhibition closing. If a piece sells during the exhibition, it may be replaced with another approved work by the artist.
Jury Process
The Juror is Patricia Karr, Manager of the Art League's Small Works Gallery. The juror and Art League curators will select and install works based on visual consistency, quality, and overall presentation to create a cohesive exhibition.
