Get matched →The Cultural Department of the City of Munich offers ongoing funding for intercultural projects. Over 40% of Munich residents bring influences from other countries, are active in associations, are artistically active, and enrich cultural life through their commitment. This funding aims to support activities that explore themes such as cultural heritage, diaspora realities, migration, and intercultural openness, contributing to the diversity and tolerance of the city's society.
Applications are open to cultural workers and artists with residence or a main focus of work in Munich, as well as groups, associations, initiatives, or organizations with a cultural connection. General funding criteria of the Cultural Department apply.
The grant amount typically ranges from a few hundred euros up to 10,000 euros.
Applications can be submitted at any time, as there are no specific deadlines. However, the application should be submitted at least eight weeks before the project begins. For projects with a longer lead time, applicants are encouraged to contact the department as early as possible. Funds are allocated through administrative channels, without a jury process, and applicants are informed as quickly as possible about the success of their application.
Applicants must submit the completed application form (for project grants up to 25,000 euros), including a detailed project description with dates and location, and a cost and financing plan that includes all income and expenses.
