Overview
Since 1986, the City of Marseille has developed a program supporting emerging artists through studio residencies. The City provides 13 studios (11 dedicated to artists under 35 years old) at moderate rent for a duration of 23 months. Artists are selected by a jury of professionals.

- Working with art critics: support interview, workshop visits by professionals, development of artist statement by a specialist writer
- Professional development and training: law and tax, career development and networking, creating promotional tools
- Promotion of the Marseille City art studios programme: management of website, organization of the Marseille City Studios Award (Prix de la Ville de Marseille) with an exhibition showcasing work of participating artists, open studio events
