Get matched →La Porte Peinte is an international arts centre located in Noyers sur Serein, a medieval village in Burgundy, celebrated as one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France. The centre is housed in a rambling medieval half-timbered building overlooking the village square and offers artists, makers, musicians, and writers in residence the opportunity to engage in creative exploration and exchange. The UNESCO heritage site Vezelay is 30 minutes away.
Open to artists, performers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and creative thinkers based anywhere in the world at any stage of career. Collaborative groups and partnerships are welcome. Family residencies available during special designated periods.
While most residencies are artist-funded, La Porte Peinte offers a limited number of fully and partially funded residencies. La Porte Peinte USA aims to support artists affected by war, natural disasters, economic hardship, or discrimination, with focus on film, photography, and written reportage; applied art; sustainable design; work by women; emerging artists; and African, Haitian, and Latin American practitioners.
