NGO Uusvada Kultuurikula is a residency located in Setomaa, Uusvada, Estonia, in a rural area run in collaboration with a non-profit NGO and local artists, filmmakers, and designers. It serves as a special place for the Seto people. The residency supports slow-paced creativity and focuses on individual art practices. The residency welcomes literature, film, contemporary art, visual arts, handicrafts, creative writing, music, dance, and applications from designers and researchers of Finno-Ugric peoples and Seto culture.

  • Costs by agreement; fee depends on length of stay and other conditions. For artist groups, separate agreements will be made.
  • Artists are responsible for all incidental expenses and working materials.

The studio is bright and spacious, accommodating up to two artists or an artist group. A gallery downstairs is available for exhibitions by agreement. For writers, a quiet study is available downstairs. Accommodation includes a private furnished room and atelier area on the second floor with kitchen, shower room, separate toilet, and two bedrooms. An office space is on the ground floor.

Entry fee
500 euros for 2 weeks / 800 euros for 4 weeks. Costs are by agreement; the fee amount depends on the length of stay and other conditions. For artist groups, separate agreements will be made.
