Overview
Sónar+D and Fundación Cotec invite artists, collectives, designers, technologists, universities, research centres, start-ups, businesses, creative agencies, producers, cultural institutions, and multidisciplinary teams to propose an original, new installation for KNOWCASE Madrid. The installation should combine knowledge, research, science, and data with art, technology, and social impact, include participative and interactive elements, encourage critical thinking and reflection, and be viable for exhibition throughout a minimum 24-month period from 2027 onwards.

Theme & Content
Proposals should address themes related to art, science, culture, and society. Cotec is particularly interested in transitions: from analogue to digital society, from linear to circular models of production and consumption, and from tangible to intangible economy. Other areas of interest include the R&D&I ecosystem, climate crisis, future of work, new forms of learning, social and territorial divides, citizen participation, health of democracy, and innovation in the public sector.
Award & Budget
The selected proposal will receive a maximum budget of 100,000 EUR (+IVA), which should cover all costs associated with the project: conceptualization, design, technical development, production, installation, maintenance, documentation, artist fees, travel, accommodation, insurance, and anything else required for delivery and exhibition throughout the stated period.

Open to organizations, collectives, artists, researchers, critics, designers, technologists, universities, research centres, start-ups, businesses, creative agencies, producers, cultural institutions, and multidisciplinary teams.
Application Requirements
Proposals must be original and new (never exhibited before). They should include a combination of knowledge, research, science, and data with art, technology, and social impact, incorporate participative and interactive elements, and encourage critical thinking and reflection.

- Maximum budget of 100,000 EUR (plus IVA) covering conceptualization, design, technical development, production, installation, maintenance, documentation, artist fees, travel, accommodation, insurance, and delivery and exhibition costs throughout the stated period.

- Proposals should address themes related to art, science, culture, and society, with particular interest in transitions from analogue to digital society, linear to circular models of production and consumption, and tangible to intangible economy.
