About the Creative Workshop T8ni tali kd’aïbna - Here, where we are is a creative workshop designed by artist Mélanie O’Bomsawin in collaboration with the PHI education team. This outdoor workshop invites participants to engage in listening as a political and poetic act. It begins with a sensory walk that takes us to a public park near PHI and close to the St. Lawrence River. Once there, we will awaken our senses to capture what is alive around us and become aware that we ourselves are part of this living network. Nature is not something we must seek, but something that we are. Through team-based games of listening, observation, and creation, we will explore the following questions: What can this place teach me? How is it alive? How can we enter into a reciprocal relationship with it?Participants will be invited to create a collaborative and sensitive mapping of the ordinary through a practice of shared attention, using drawings and words on tracing paper. Once back in the educational room, the maps will be layered to reveal the multiplicity of encounters experienced by each participant. You don’t have to travel far to witness the extraordinary. It’s right here in the present moment, within reach. We just have to pay attention.
