Overview
The Teiger Foundation's Hosting Grant provides $50,000 or $75,000 to U.S.-based curators or artistic directors presenting a contemporary visual art exhibition or project that originated elsewhere and is being meaningfully adapted for a new institutional and community context. The grant supports curatorial collaboration, local partnerships, public programming, and other adaptations that give an existing project new meaning for its host community.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are U.S.-based curators or artistic directors with host organizations that are U.S.-based. Projects must be pre-existing and may include exhibitions or performances grounded in contemporary visual art. Internationally originated projects are eligible as long as the host organization is U.S.-based. Projects presented exactly as they appeared at the originating institution, without meaningful adaptation or collaboration, are not competitive. Co-originated projects are not eligible.

- The Hosting Grant is offered four times per year with additional deadlines in December 2026 and March and June 2027
Application Requirements
- Proposed project description (750 words or less) addressing why you want to host the project, how you will adapt it, plans for collaboration with originating curator(s) and institution(s), and how you will engage specific communities and audiences
- Up to ten images with captions (up to 100 words per image) illustrating the existing exhibition or project; images must be .jpg format, at least 72 dpi, and not exceed 5 MB each
- Past project description (500 words or less) describing a past exhibition or project you hosted or contributed to hosting, what you learned, and your role
- Optional: up to five links (with up to 100 words per link) to documentation such as project websites, installation shots, floorplans, videos, publications, or reviews
- Project budget including pending and confirmed income and expenses
Award
Grants of $50,000 or $75,000. International shipping costs and related expenses may be included in the proposed budget.
