About
Artists are invited to submit works exploring the idea of orientation and how their personal perspective reveals systems we use to understand where we are and where we might go.
Overview
Perspectives on Orientation is a juried group exhibition open to all media. The exhibition seeks works that investigate the ways we locate ourselves within an ever-changing world. Artists are challenged to transform systems of orientation into visually compelling works of art that invite curiosity and encourage viewers to reconsider their own perspective.
Theme
What orientates us? What are the tools we use to understand where we are, where we have been and where we might go? Whether imaginary or real, obscure or obvious, artists may explore maps, cartographic imagery, scientific models, mathematics, weather patterns, and countless other systems to help us find our place, discover the unknown, and stay oriented.
Jurying Criteria
- Strength of concept
- Relationship to the theme
- Technical command
- Overall execution
- Adherence to the submission guidelines
