8-week residency with studio access, expert support, darkroom facilities, and civic service personnel assistance
Stimultania, 33 rue Kageneck, 67000 Strasbourg

Between 2017 and 2026, Stimultania operates an annual artist residency in Givors (69). In 2026, the residency relocates to Strasbourg as part of the Photography Bicentenary celebration and the opening of a new public space. The residency is dedicated to experimentation and research with no production commission or obligation to deliver finished work. It aims to support artistic practice aligned with Stimultania's research axes, particularly questions of accessibility and audience engagement.

The residency is a dedicated time for artistic exploration without production requirements. Stimultania accompanies the artist through the process, providing expertise, darkroom facilities, civic service personnel, and access to community audiences. While photography remains the primary medium, multidisciplinary projects are welcome. The artist retains full creative autonomy.

Open to professional artists, sole proprietors (artist-authors), or micro-entrepreneurs based in France or European territory.

The residency runs for 8 weeks, as consecutively as possible, with mandatory residence at Stimultania Strasbourg for at least 6 weeks. Residency periods must be scheduled between October 2026 and June 2027, based on the artist's project and Stimultania's schedule. The residency must begin in 2026.

Stimultania, 33 rue Kageneck, 67000 Strasbourg.
