The program aims to expand regional reach by supporting artists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and diaspora communities in the United States who have had less recent presence in the program.
Two artists will be selected in this first call: one for the autumn 2026 residency and another for winter 2027. Each residency lasts 12 weeks and is completely funded.

The call excludes artists currently residing in Chile, Perú, Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina to expand regional reach. No restrictions apply to Latin American and Caribbean artists living in the United States.
Supported by Jorge M. Pérez and Darlene Pérez, this marks the first residency linked to El Espacio 23 held outside Miami. Over the next two years, four residencies will be awarded. El Espacio 23 is based in Miami and develops a residency model focused on long-term support, which this alliance extends to an international context for new work and circulation opportunities for contemporary artists.
