About
Overview
The City of Wilsonville and the Arts, Culture, and Heritage Commission invite artists to participate in 'Wilsonville Wrapped,' a Utility Box Public Art Program. The pilot program will place artwork on up to 7 utility boxes (approximately 80" x 24" x 30") throughout the City. Artwork will be reproduced as vinyl wraps and professionally installed by a contractor. Artists are NOT expected to do any work on-site. The program aims to add vitality and attractiveness to the streetscape, foster civic pride and community identity, and bring accessible art to unexpected places.
Theme & Guidelines
- Theme: "Celebrating the Arts & Creativity"
- Artwork must be original and entirely created by the human artist (no AI-generated or AI-derived imagery)
- Artwork should enliven the area and contribute to the attractiveness of the streetscape
- Consider the context of the local area, community, and the City as a whole
- Artwork must be suitable and appropriate for viewing by all audiences
- Artwork may not contain representations of traffic lights, signs, or signals
- No advertising, logos, political, religious, or sexual content
- Must not be plagiarized, stolen, copied, or use copyrighted/trademarked images
Eligibility

Selection Process
Staff will conduct an internal review to confirm completeness, adherence to guidelines, and eligibility. The Arts, Culture, and Heritage Commission will evaluate submissions based on artist excellence, composition, originality, and whether the artwork meets the project goals of representing the theme and fostering civic pride and community.
Award
Selected artists will receive $500 per box as a design stipend, paid directly to the artist. This is inclusive of everything to generate the design concept. Selected artists will not be entitled to any other compensation or reimbursement beyond the $500 per box design.
After Selection
Awarded artists must sign a contract with the City of Wilsonville outlining scope of work, timelines, payment, artwork use and ownership. The City retains the right to photograph the work and use it for promotional materials.
