About
Overview
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center invites artists to paint the diverse beauty of Baker County during Brushstrokes and Byways: Autumn's Palette, a plein air event featuring 60 participating artists. Work must be created en plein air within Baker County October 14–18, 2026. The exhibition runs for a month starting with the First Friday Art Walk opening on November 6th at Crossroads and multiple Main Street locations.

Eligibility
Open to all artists. Artwork must be created en plein air (without photography) within designated Baker County communities during October 14–18, 2026.
Media & Requirements
Oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, graphite, charcoal, ink, and pastel are acceptable. All paintings must have the Crossroads Logo stamp on the substrate. Artists are responsible for framing work with D-rings and wire (no saw-tooth hangers). Stretched canvas with finished black edges is also acceptable. All exhibited artwork must be for sale at artist-set prices.
Application & Fees
- Entry Fee: $45 (non-refundable) for up to 3 artworks per artist
- Submit: Three original images of plein air work and a brief bio (up to 250 words) via ShowSubmit
- 60 participating artists and 5 alternatives will be selected by the Crossroads Gallery Committee

- 2nd Place: $200 (Sponsored by Eastern Oregon Dental Group)

Sales & Commission
All sales transactions are processed by Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, which retains 35% commission on all sales. Unsold artwork is the artist's responsibility.
