Solanas Art Experience (SAE), the cultural platform of Fundación Solanas in Punta Ballena, Uruguay, launches an Open Call for visual arts. The program seeks projects that intersect art, nature, architecture, technology, design, and material culture. Three editions of one-month residencies will be held during 2027.

  • Application deadline: August 7, 2027
  • Notification date: September 28, 2027
  • Residency editions: March 31–April 28, 2027 (3 artists selected); August 10–September 7, 2027 (2 or 3 artists selected); September 28–October 26, 2027 (2 or 3 artists selected)

Individual artists based in Latin America and the Caribbean with sustained body of work evidenced by international exhibitions, collections, formal training, or previous residencies. Artists who have participated in earlier editions cannot reapply.

  • Housing, meals, and transportation covered
  • USD 300 production fund

  • Works may be included in a summer exhibition and the Solanas Art Experience Collection (resident donates one work while retaining copyright)

Residency fee: USD 1,000

Site-specific projects exclusively focused on outdoor intervention and proposals centered solely on performance or audiovisual work are not accepted.
