About
Overview
The Practice Contribution provides honorarium support for visual artists undertaking public-facing art projects that strengthen their professional practice. The program is part of Art Office's commitment to the Fair Practice Code.
Eligibility
Open to Rotterdam-based individual artists who are registered with Art Office, have current login credentials, and have updated their artist profile (including profile photo and current portfolio).
What you can apply for
Applications are accepted for local, regional, and (inter)national projects with a public character that are meaningful for your professional practice. This includes presentations in non-commercial spaces, public spaces, and other types of events. Collaborative projects with one or more partners are preferred. The honorarium must be justified with detailed documentation of hours worked.
Award
Maximum contribution of €2,000, intended as honorarium for the artist. The amount depends on the project's character and will be assessed accordingly. The contribution typically covers part of the full honorarium. For exhibitions at venues without artist honorarium budgets, use the provided calculator to calculate the honorarium as the basis for your application.
Important restrictions
There must be at least four weeks between your application date and project start date. You cannot apply if you have a concurrent I&V application. Only one grant is awarded per calendar year per person. You cannot apply for projects at venues that have their own artist honorarium budgets (BRUTUS, Extra Extra, ALL CAPS, MAMA, Kunstinstituut Melly, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Roodkapje, V2_Lab for the Unstable Media, Villa Zebra, Buitenplaats Brienenoord, OMI, Stichting Wijkcollectie, WORM).
How to apply
Submit your application through the application form in your Art Office artist account. Your application must be complete, including an updated artist profile, clear budget and funding plan, and detailed justification of the honorarium. Applications will be reviewed by one or more external advisors based on artistic-content quality, public reach and project impact, your time investment (in a clear budget and funding plan), feasibility, and an updated artist profile on artoffice.info.
Application process timeline
- Applications submitted by June 30 are processed within the regular timeline
- No applications accepted in July and August
After approval
Within two weeks of project completion, submit a project report to Art Office according to the conditions stated in your grant letter.
