Hub Feenix Residency 2027

Overview

Hub Feenix is a non-profit artist residency center in a transformed historic sanitarium surrounded by nature in Finland. The residency offers a harmonious working environment with opportunities for concentration, collaboration, and recreation.

Duration & Accommodation

• Residency runs annually April through December (winter break January–March)
• Typical stay: 1–3 months (minimum 2 months recommended)
• Private bedrooms (~15m²) with shared kitchen, bathroom, and shower facilities
• Limited rooms available with private toilet (+€50/month) or private bathroom/shower (+€100/month)

• Printmaking workshop
• Textile workshop
• Ceramics workshop
• 300m² professionally equipped wood workshop
• 3D-printing workshop
• Sound recording studio
• Music room
• Private studios (15m²) on the 4th floor with natural light and forest views

Fees

• Residency fee: €800/month (includes private bedroom and dedicated studio with Makerspace access)
• Extra heating costs during cold season based on individual use

Community & Activities

• Monthly 'Meet the Artists' afternoons
• Opportunity to organize open studio events, concerts, or installations
• Access to gym, climbing wall, football field, sauna, and borrowed bicycles
• Lake swimming in summer (15-minute walk)
• Shared car available

Expectations & Policies

No expected artistic outcome. Artists are expected to maintain common spaces, clean their bedroom and studio before departure, and respect the vegetarian policy. Alcohol is permitted in moderation.
